The responsibility of Tata Group has fallen on the shoulders of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata to Ratan Tata and now this responsibility is in the hands of Noel Tata. Every person in the Tata family has worked with complete dedication to take the Tata Group forward. From generation to generation… whoever took the helm of Tata Group, they all took many important decisions in the interest of the group and the country.

From Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata to Dorabji Tata, Sir Ratanji Tata, JRD Tata and Ratan Tata, there is a lot of talk, but in the meantime a woman became the director of TATA SONS, the flagship company of Tata Group, about which very little is talked about. or rather, many people today do not know him. However, today we are going to give you complete information about them? I used to make big decisions. Not even JRD Tata took important decisions without consulting him.

Actually, we are talking about Nawazbai Seth, who became the first woman director of Tata Sons in 1925. After the death of her husband Ratanji Tata, Nawazbai took over the business and ran it until 1965.

The life of Nawazbai Seth
Ratanji Tata, younger brother of Dorabji Tata and son of Jamsetji Tata, married Nawazbai Seth, younger daughter of Ardeshir Merwanji Seth in 1892. After marriage, Ratanji Tata went to England in 1915 and adopted Naval Tata. With the death of Ratanji Tata in 1918, the family was in trouble and she decided to take over as director of Tata Sons and was the first woman to do so. She is also known as Ratan Tata’s grandmother.

Ratan becomes chairman of Tata Trust
Ratanji Tata and his wife Nawazbai Seth bought York House in Twickenham, the stately country home of the Duke of Orleans. King George V and Queen Mary were close friends among their friends. Nawazbai had also donated many houses received from Ratanji during his lifetime. In 1926, Nawazbai founded an institute in Ratanji’s honor to help elderly and deprived Parsi women. This organization used to provide employment to women. Later, this institute was named Sir Ratan Tata Institute (RTI) in Mumbai in 1928. Its objective was to provide employment and training to poor and needy women. Nawazbai was appointed chairman of Ratan Tata Trust in 1932.

The Tata House was built
Ratanji and Lady Nawazbai were great art lovers and collected jade, paintings and other objects during their travels. They were going to make these things to decorate their house, but Ratanji Tata passed away. Nawazbai then sent this collection to the Prince of Wales Museum. York House of England is also for sale. He later took on the responsibility of completing the house in Bombay, which we know today as Tata House.

The Tata Group was founded in 1868 under the leadership of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata and over the decades has grown into a leading multinational conglomerate. The nearly 200-year-old legacy, with a capital of Rs 21,000 crore, now rules the business world in nearly 100 countries.
