Firstly, take black gram and soak it in water overnight like you soak chickpeas and beans. Now wash the gram with clean water in the morning. Place the gram in the pot and boil it adding little water as needed. To boil gram, use 2 whistles on medium heat.

Now take a pan or kadai and add 1 tsp mustard oil. Add asafoetida and cumin in oil and crunch. Now add the chopped green chillies. If you like onion and tomato, add half a finely chopped onion in oil and cook. After the onion browns, add 1 finely chopped tomato.

Take out the gram and filter the water completely through a strainer. Now first add all the ground spices like turmeric, salt, coriander powder, chaat masala and garam masala in the oil. Now add grams. Cover and cook the chickpea for about 5-7 minutes. When the masala and chickpea are mixed, switch off the gas.

The delicious fried chana is ready. Add some finely chopped green cilantro on top. Put 2 to 4 pieces of long ring ginger per gram and eat them for breakfast. If you want, you can fry chickpeas without onion or tomato adding only green chilies. The gram prepared in this way has a very tasty taste.
