This election will be important for Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Vading, former MP and MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and Manpreet Badal. He has won three times from the Dera Baba Nanak seat, but now after contesting the Lok Sabha elections, he has also fielded his wife.

After this, he had done his duty well by winning from Gurdaspur in the Lok Sabha elections, but now his wife Jatinder Kaur is contesting from Dera Baba Nanak, so this election has become a matter of credibility for him. After leaving Giddarbaha, Punjab Congress president Raja Vading is now contesting elections with his wife Amrita Vading. Vading has dominated this assembly constituency since three elections.
