In Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a young man escaped with a sports bike on the pretext of taking a test ride. The young fugitive had come to steal the bicycle, posing as his father as a tea seller. Here is a vintage bike showroom called Kamal Morts at Nalband junction.

On November 3, the owner of the showroom reported the incident to the Lohamandi police. The complaint stated that a young man named Sahil had come to the showroom to buy a second-hand racing bike. The deal for the bike was closed for Rs 1 lakh. Sahil had left from there saying that he would bring his father.

After some time, accused Sahil came to the showroom with an elderly person. The accused said that this old man is his father. Sahil made the old man sit in the showroom and asked the showroom owner to test ride the bike. After this, the showroom operator handed over the bike to him for testing. The accused Sahil left the showroom with the bike. The accused’s alleged father remained sitting there with the showroom operator.

When Sahil did not return for a long time, the showroom operator asked the old man to inquire about Sahil. The old man told him that he was not his father. She runs a tea shop and Sahil sometimes comes to her to drink tea. Sahil had said that he had to go with her for some important work, so he went with her.

Following the incident, the police had registered a case on November 5 based on the complaint of the showroom operator. The police had registered an FIR under sections 303(2) and 318(4) of the Indian Judicial Code. The police started searching for the accused and on November 6 arrested the accused Sahil near GIC Ground.

The stolen motorcycle was also recovered from Sahil’s possession. During interrogation, the accused told the police that he liked to ride a bicycle but that his family’s financial situation was not enough to buy one. That’s why he couldn’t buy a bicycle. In such a situation, I had made a plan to buy a bicycle to fulfill my hobby. After recovering the bicycle, the police also imposed section 317 (2) of the BNS on the accused.
