Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) released the third list of candidates on Wednesday. There are names of five candidates on this list. Yogendra Yadav from Gomia, Sukhrao Orav from Chakradharpur, Snehalata Kandulna from Khunti, Jiga Susaran Horo from Sisai and Chamra Linda from Bishnupur have been candidates. Chamra Linda had turned rebel in the last Lok Sabha elections. He had participated in the elections as an independent against the Grand Alliance from the Lohardaga seat.
JMM had recently published another list containing the names of 35 candidates. Along with Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his wife Kalpana Soren’s name also figured in this list. Chief Minister of State and JMM Chief Hemant Soren will contest from Barhet seat while his wife Kalpana Soren will contest from Gandey seat. Three Muslim candidates have also got entries in this JMM list.
Voting will be carried out in two phases in the state
Voting will be held in two phases in Jharkhand. The results will be known on November 23. In the first phase, voting will be held on 43 seats on November 13 and in the second phase, voting will be held on 38 seats on November 20. The counting of votes will then take place on November 23. According to the Election Commission, the total number of voters in Jharkhand is 2,55,18,642, of which the number of male voters is 1,29,97,325, while the number of female voters is 1,25,20,910. This means that women’s participation has increased.
Elections for 81 seats in Jharkhand
The term of the Jharkhand Assembly will end on January 5, 2025. The last assembly elections were held in December 2019. Elections will be held on a total of 81 seats.
BJP-Congress has published the first list
Let us tell you that both the BJP and the Congress have released their first lists. The BJP had released its first list of 66 candidates, in which former CM Champai Soren was given a ticket from the Seraikela Vidhansabha seat. Champai Soren had left Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and joined the BJP. Along with this, Babulal Marandi has been sent from Dhanwar. Talking about Congress, Congress has also released its first list, in which there are names of 21 candidates. Congress has given tickets to Irfan Ansari from Jamtara, Mamta Devi from Ramgarh, Munna Singh from Hazaribagh, Dr Ajay Kumar from Jamshedpur East, Ajay Nath Sahdev from Hatia, Bhushan Bara from Simdega.
