In Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh, a girl committed suicide due to her lover’s infidelity. The girl had filed a rape case against her boyfriend, accusing him of raping her on the pretext of getting married. The police investigated the case and submitted a report to the court three months ago declaring the accused innocent. The girl was very upset by this. After the incident, the police detained the girl’s body and sent it for autopsy.
A girl committed suicide by consuming poison in the Amaria police station area of Pilibhit district. The girl had filed a rape complaint against her boyfriend eight months ago. The young woman had accused her lover of raping her several times under the pretext of getting married. After registering a case on the girl’s complaint, the police started complaining about the matter. Following the investigation, the police had submitted a report three months ago deeming the accused innocent.
The family made serious accusations against the police.
Regarding the girl’s death, the family claims that if the police had investigated impartially, their daughter probably would not have taken this step. Giving information about the case, a police officer said that a girl resident of Amriya town had reached the police station on Wednesday after consuming poison. Seeing his condition worsening, he was admitted to the district hospital, from where seeing his condition deteriorating, he was referred to Bareilly. The girl died during treatment in Bareilly. A police officer said the girl was angry about her lover’s betrayal and her marriage. That’s why he consumed poison.

Talking about a video, Akhilesh wrote that the girl had given a video to the police regarding the allegations. Akhilesh further writes that dishonesty of officials and involvement of BJP staff is the root cause of the problem. There should be a thorough investigation into the matter and punitive action should be taken against whoever accepted the bribe. Akhilete writes that the Uttar Pradesh government itself should pass a no-confidence motion for its corruption and callous behaviour. In addition to this, a fine of Rs 1 million should be imposed and this amount of condolence should be given to the family of the deceased.
