According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Nabi will bid farewell to ODI cricket after the Champions Trophy. Let us tell you that the ICC Champions Trophy will be organized in Pakistan next year.

Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan confirmed Mohammad Nabi’s retirement to Cricbuzz on Friday, November 8. Naseeb told Cricbuzz that yes, Nabi will retire from ODIs after the Champions Trophy and has informed the board about his wish. He said Nabi had told them a few months ago that he wanted to end his ODI career after the Champions Trophy and the board welcomed his decision. After the Champions Trophy, Nabi wants to continue his career in T20 and that is the plan from now on. Nabi had retired from Test cricket in the same year 2019.

Nabi represented Afghanistan in his first ODI and made his mark by scoring a half-century on debut against Scotland in 2009. He scored 3549 runs in 165 ODIs at an average of 27.30 and also took 171 wickets. In the ongoing three-match ODI series in Sharjah, Nabi scored a brilliant 82 runs in the first match against Bangladesh and led his team to a competitive score. After this, thanks to Allah Ghazanfar’s 6 wickets, the Afghanistan team managed to defeat Bangladesh by 92 runs.

Mohammad Nabi, 39, played 3 Test matches for Afghanistan in which he scored 33 runs. Nabi has 2165 runs to his name in 129 T20I matches. During this period, he has scored 6 half-centuries with his bat. Talking about bowling, he took 8 wickets in Test, 171 wickets in ODIs and 96 wickets in T20I cricket. He has been an important part of the Afghanistan cricket team since he started playing international cricket.
