Veteran Afghan cricketer Mohammad Nabi will retire from ODI cricket after the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next year. Nabi is currently the No. 1 all-rounder in the ICC ODI rankings. He made his ODI debut against Scotland in 2009 and has been playing for Afghanistan in this 50-over format for the last 15 years. Nabi, 39, had retired from Test cricket 5 years ago. Afghanistan Cricket Board confirmed

Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan has revealed Mohammad Nabi’s retirement. As reported by Cricbuzz, Nabi has informed the ACB of his decision to retire, which has also been accepted by the board. After retiring from Test and ODI cricket, he can play till the 2026 T20 World Cup. Naseeb Khan said, “Nabi told me a few months ago that he wants to end his ODI career after the Champions Trophy and we welcome his decision “.

Mohammad Nabi is one of the most important actors in Afghanistan. In addition to hitting right-handed, he also bowls spin and played a big role in many wins. Nabi is currently the No. 1 all-rounder in the ICC ODI rankings. In his last ODI match against Bangladesh, after losing 5 wickets for 71 runs, he played a brilliant innings of 84 runs in 79 balls and was the hero of the team’s victory.
