Teleconsultation service to start in Rohtak PGIMS
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today announced a major health initiative, fulfilling two key promises of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto. The Chief Minister said that now cataract operations will be performed free of charge for patients in all 26 government hospitals and 15 private hospitals across the state. Apart from this, Nayab Singh Saini also announced the launch of teleconsultation services by experts of PGIMS Rohtak on the lines of the successful telemedicine services of PGIMER Chandigarh. This service will allow residents of the state to receive consultations from medical experts at no cost, which will benefit a large number of people, especially those living in rural and remote areas. Haryana has seen a significant increase in the number of calls received daily, reaching an average of 1,700 calls per day.
To further improve health services, the state government has set an ambitious target of increasing the number of calls to 7,000 per day. At present, the total number of visits to the outpatient department (OPD) in Haryana is around 1 lakh per day. Taking strict action on the complaint against Aggarwal Nursing Home, Kurukshetra for receiving cash from patients for treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Chief Minister ordered to cancel the empaneling of this hospital included in the scheme with immediate effect.
All doctors and paramedical staff must be available during their scheduled work hours.
Reviewing the functioning of civil hospitals across the state, the Chief Minister underlined the importance of patient satisfaction as the primary objective of the healthcare system. It ordered that all doctors and paramedical staff must be available during their scheduled duty hours to ensure that patients do not face unnecessary delays in receiving medical care. The Chief Minister also highlighted the need for better communication and support to patients. In this sense, he ordered that a free telephone help line be established in all civil hospitals to provide timely care and address any concerns or complaints from patients.
777 doctor positions will be filled soon
The Chief Minister said that with an aim to further strengthen the health system and meet the demand for doctors, 777 doctors will be recruited in the state by December 31, 2024. Besides, 825 health institutions will be established in a phased manner, including 718 Sub Health Centers (SHC), 82 Primary Health Centers (PHC) and 25 Community Health Centers (CHC) to further strengthen rural health infrastructure.
Obstetrics and gynecology wards in all district hospitals should be equipped with high-tech facilities.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister also approved giving 5 per cent bonus of 20 per cent corpus fund to government doctors treating Ayushman Bharat patients in government hospitals under the surgical package. Naib Singh Saini also directed that 10 per cent of the budget be allocated to provide high-tech facilities in maternity and gynecology wards of all hospitals for newborns and pregnant women. He stressed that his goal is to ensure that people no longer need to seek treatment in private hospitals.
Actual information on the availability of medical equipment will be available on the Digital Inventory Portal.
The Chief Minister directed that a digital inventory portal linked to the CM Dashboard be established on priority basis. This portal will provide real-time information about the availability of medical equipment like ICU, ultrasound machine, X-ray machine, CT scanner, etc. The Digital Inventory Portal will also help track the daily usage of these services, thus ensuring better resource management and service delivery. He also directed to ensure round-the-clock availability of cardiologists and other related staff at Cathlabs set up in government hospitals. The Chief Minister said that a comprehensive plan should be made to ensure that every district hospital has an ICU. Currently, six hospitals are ready to function.
They prepare a permanent system for yoga and gym maintenance.
Reviewing the functioning of the AYUSH Department, the Chief Minister directed that the construction of the AYUSH University being developed at Kurukshetra be expedited at an estimated cost of Rs 1,296.09 crore. He also highlighted the need to promote and spread AYUSH practices in the state. The Chief Minister directed to prepare a permanent system for maintenance of yoga and gyms in the state.
