American carmaker Jeep has launched its famous Jeep Meridian SUV in the Indian market with a slight update. The company has made some updates to this SUV that make it better than the previous model. Equipped with an attractive appearance and a powerful engine, the starting price of this SUV has been set at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In the market, this SUV competes with models like Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
What the new Jeep Meridian is like:
The company has introduced the updated Meridian in two different seating arrangements, 5-seater and 7-seater configuration. This SUV is available for sale in a total of four variants, Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O) and Overland. The company has started its official booking from today and this new model is available for sale at the company’s authorized dealerships across the country.
Talking about looks and design, the Jeep Meridian remains pretty much the same as before. It has a slatted grille, stylish LED headlights, daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels and stylish taillights. Inside the cabin, premium materials have been used in leather seats, dashboard and armrests with suede details and copper stitching.
Power and performance:
For this, the company has used a 2.0 liter displacement diesel engine. Which generates a power of 168 HP and a torque of 350 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic torque converter transmission gearbox. What’s special is that this SUV is available with two-wheel drive (4X2) and four-wheel drive (4X4) configurations.

Cabin features:
This includes a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and power front seats. and ventilated. The entry-level Longitude variant is offered only in a five-seat variant, with all other variants having a standard 7-seat layout. However, some features like power and ventilated front seats and sunroof are not included in the base variant.
ADAS Level 2 Safety:
Speaking of safety features, the company claims that the new Meridian comes with more than 70 safety features. Its top-spec Overland version boasts many new advanced features, including ADAS Level-2 suite and more connectivity features. In which features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning and lane keep assist are available. It has connected car technology, including Alexa home-to-vehicle integration.
670 liters of boot space:
Jeep claims that the new five-seater variant has a boot space of 670 liters, while the seven-seater variant has a boot space of up to 824 liters when the second row is folded down. With all three rows in use, the seven-seater variant offers a 170-litre boot.
