AMU’s minority status will be maintained, Supreme Court announced its decision

The status of Aligarh Muslim University will remain intact, let us tell you that the Supreme Court has given its decision by a majority of 4-3. The Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court issued this decision during the hearing of the case. The Supreme Court has upheld AMU’s minority status. Before his retirement, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud took a big decision in favor of Aligarh University. At the same time, information also comes to light that the minority status of the Supreme Court will now be decided again.

The Constitution Chamber of the Supreme Court heard the case in depth and subsequently reached this decision. In this case, a petition was filed against AMU, alleging that the university’s minority status is not justified under Article 30 of the Constitution. However, the Court rejected this argument and upheld the university’s minority status. Let us tell you that in the year 2006, the Allahabad High Court ruled that AMU, established under an imperial law in 1920, is not a minority educational institution.
