Karnal News: A youth who came to bathe at Chhath Ghat drowned in the canal.

Deepak was the only brother of two sisters.
Karnal News (Aaj Samaj) Karnal: On the day of Chhath Puja festival, a family’s happiness turned into mourning. The accident occurred at Western Yamuna in Karnal. Where in the morning, during Chhath Puja, the young man had come to the ghat to take bath. But the young man drowned in the water while bathing. Young Deepak resided in Bihar. He lived in Karnal with his family for a long time. Deepak had observed the Chhath Mata fast. As soon as the news of Deepak’s death broke, a mountain of grief fell on the family. As soon as the news of the young man’s drowning became known, the team of divers arrived at the scene. The team removed the young man’s body and handed it over to the police.

The police detained the body and sent it to the hospital for autopsy. After the autopsy, the body will be handed over to his family. According to information received, Deepak, a native of Bihar, lived with his family in Karnal Sector 12 for a long time. He has his mother and two sisters at home. Deepak used to work as a daily wage labourer. Deepak’s death has brought great pain to the entire family.

Angered by the young man’s death, relatives accused the administration of negligence. Family members say the administration did not take proper security measures at Chhath Ghat. Due to which Deepak died. The diving team was not at the scene when Deepak drowned. By the time the team reached the spot, Deepak had drowned. The administration says that on receiving information about the drowning of the youth, diver Pargat Singh also reached the spot and the NDRF team also reached the spot. The body was immediately found by the diving team and taken out of the channel.

Crews arrived 30 minutes after Deepak drowned

Family members said the administration had made big claims about security at Chhath Ghat. Even after Deepak drowned in the canal, NDRF and police teams arrived after about 30 minutes. But in the end it was the diver who pulled out the body. Had the administration taken safety measures in time, Deepak would have been alive today.
