Moscow: The most important news of this time arises in relation to the war between Russia and Ukraine attributed to the Kremlin. The Kremlin said Friday that President Vladimir Putin is willing to talk with US President-elect Donald Trump about the war in Ukraine. However, the Kremlin also says that being willing to discuss Ukraine does not mean Moscow is willing to change its previous demands. Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the comments when asked at a daily news conference whether Putin’s willingness to talk to the Republican president-elect reflected Russia’s willingness to change the demands it has made so far.

Peskov responded: “President Putin never said that the objectives of the special military operation were changing. On the contrary, he has repeatedly said that they will remain the same.” All this is related to the security interests of our country, the security interests of the Russian people living there. That is why there was no talk of any change here. Putin has set his conditions for ending the war on June 14. The first is that Ukraine would have to give up its NATO ambitions and withdraw all its troops from the four areas claimed by Russia. But Ukraine rejected this condition.

Ukraine said giving in to Russia’s conditions is like surrender

In response to these conditions from Russia, Zelensky had said that doing so would be tantamount to surrendering to Moscow. Ukrainian President Zelensky has presented a “victory plan” over Russia, which includes a request for additional military support from the West. But during his campaign, Trump criticized the magnitude of US military and financial aid to kyiv. He had said that if he came to power he could end the war within 24 hours. After Trump was elected president, Zelensky congratulated him. He said he does not know how the Americans plan to quickly end the conflict. “If it just accelerates, it will mean losses for Ukraine. I still don’t understand how it could be otherwise. Maybe we don’t know something, we don’t see it,” he said on Thursday.

Putin also congratulated Trump on his victory.

Although late after Trump’s victory, Putin also congratulated him on Thursday on his victory in the US elections. When a gunman tried to assassinate Trump in July, Putin also praised him for showing bravery against him and said Moscow is ready for talks with Trump. He said comments Trump had made about trying to end the war were noteworthy. Trump told NBC that he hasn’t spoken to Putin since his election victory, but “I think we will talk.” When asked about a possible phone call between the two men, Peskov said there was nothing concrete to report yet.
