India saw the largest increase in university representation compared to China. A total of 135 Chinese universities have found a place on the list, while Japan took the third position with 115 universities. In addition, the London-based University Rankings Organization surveyed a total of 6,278 universities in Asia. The evaluation agency used 11 performance indicators, including employer reputation, international faculty ratio, international research network, international student ratio, academic reputation, faculty-student ratio, outgoing exchange students , incoming exchange students, articles per faculty, citations per article, and employees with PhDs are included.
According to media reports, a total of seven Indian universities are included among the top 100 institutes in Asia, including Delhi University, IISc Bangalore, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur. The special thing is that IIT Delhi got 44th position and this year it has become the highest ranked Indian institute in Asia and India. Meanwhile, IIT Bombay’s ranking has fallen to second place among India’s top institutes.
Chandigarh University (CU), continuing its excellent performance among all private universities in India, topped the QS Asia University ranking. Its ranking has improved from position 149 in the last edition (2024) to 120.
