A case of suicide of a youth has come to light in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. The youth was a student of class 12. A class 12 student committed suicide by jumping from the Jam Gate historical site. The youth was angry because he was denied permission to take selfies and use mobile phones on school premises. School officials’ statement regarding the incident has also been released. School officials said cell phone use and taking selfies were prohibited on campus. After which he took this step.
According to information, the matter took place at Government Higher Secondary School at Gulwad in Mandleshwar area. Where 17-year-old student Raj Osari, who lived in the school hostel, committed suicide. Before attempting suicide, the student’s family members and a school guard tried to stop him but were unable to stop the student. The student’s mobile phone has also been recovered from the scene of the incident.
The uncle of the deceased student told the police that a hostel official, Prakash Girwal, had complained about Raj. He had called and told about Raj’s use of mobile in school. After which he was rejected and was then called to meet with the school. When we met, Raj was not at the hostel. After that he came back.
He said that when the school’s principal, KC Saand, objected to Raj taking selfies at school on Wednesday, he threatened to commit suicide or run away from the school. The principal asked the hostel superintendent to call Raj’s family and resolve the matter.
SP said that in the investigation it is possible that the student committed suicide for fear of being scolded by his family members. He said the police are investigating the matter.
