- Advocates of 22 districts to accept Ghaziabad Bar Association’s decision
- Lawyers from West UP had reached Ghaziabad to give impetus to the movement.
(UtterPardesh News) Ghaziabad. Advocates from 22 districts of western Uttar Pradesh, meeting at Ghaziabad Bar Association auditorium, decided to block roads for two hours daily in all districts and will accept the decisions of Ghaziabad Bar Association regarding the movement. A grand conference of lawyers from across UP, Punjab, NCR and Haryana was convened on November 16. For the movement to succeed, advocates have begun to prepare. Till now, advocates from western Uttar Pradesh were accepting the decision of the High Court Struggle Committee chairman, it was decided at the meeting held in Ghaziabad on Friday. this movement will continue till the power of Sangharsh Committee Chairman remains in the hands of the Ghaziabad Bar Council.
Meeting held in Ghaziabad to discuss further strategy
In the meeting, the advocates unanimously decided to block the roads at the headquarters in all 22 districts and also fixed the time for this from 12:00 to 14:00. While lawyers from 22 districts of West UP went on strike on Friday to intensify the ongoing movement against lathicharging of lawyers in courts on October 29, a meeting was held in Ghaziabad to discuss future strategy, the presidents and secretaries of all bar associations. The districts attended the meeting held in the auditorium.
In the meeting that lasted about three hours, two important decisions were made. A decision made in this regard is that defenders in all districts will block roads for two hours every day, from 12 noon to 2 pm. This decision will apply from Monday.
In this meeting, the lawyers of 22 districts unanimously decided that all rights of the Chief Justice, Central Struggle Committee of Western Uttar Pradesh will remain with the Ghaziabad Bar Council until the movement continues. That means after this decision, the decision taken by Ghaziabad Bar Council will be accepted by advocates across West UP.
Besides Ghaziabad, advocates from 22 districts including Gautam Buddha Nagar, Hapur Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Agra, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Saharanpur, Amroha and Moradabad participated in the meeting. We reported that on October 29, after a heated argument with lawyers in Ghaziabad District Magistrate Anil Kumar’s court, police charged him with lathi charges. After the lathi charge in the courtroom, advocates across the state including Ghaziabad and even Delhi became angry. The matter was taken seriously by the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh as well as the Allahabad High Court Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Council. Lawyers went on strike starting November 4 in protest of this incident.
