On 25 April 2022, Ambala Superintendent of Police briefed drivers on ensuring road safety, determining lane driving (left lane) for heavy vehicles and speed restricted vehicles (fixed speed limit) and drive in the left lane for smooth movement. vehicles and a meeting of police/employees was called to sensitize them and take necessary measures. Police officers and employees present at the seminar were instructed to strictly enforce traffic rules to ensure road safety. Under Part 5 of Section 4 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 2017, challans were issued to 31 heavy vehicles for violating the speed limit and prescribed rules by not driving on the left lane. Today, 23 October 2024, challans were issued to 31 heavy vehicles and so far in the last 826 days challans have been issued to 36,395 heavy vehicles.
The Superintendent of Police, Ambala had instructed the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ambala Traffic and the Traffic Manager, Police Station that as per Part 5 of Section 4 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 2017, he will ensure that All heavy vehicles and vehicles with speed restrictions move in the left lane. within the prescribed speed limit, so that road safety can be ensured and that no driver has any difficulties while overtaking and traffic accidents can be avoided. If any driver violates the rules of Part 5 of Section 4 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 2017 by not following the speed limit and driving in the left lane, then he must be reprimanded.
To follow the directions of Ambala Superintendent of Police and ensure road safety, today, 23rd October 2024, Ambala Traffic Police issued notice to traffic police for violating speed limit and rules by not driving by the left lane under Part 5 of Section 4 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 2017 issued challans for 31 heavy vehicles.
