The star of Netflix’s ‘Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives’ recently attended Business Today’s ‘Most Powerful Women’ event. Shalini Pasi, Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Sajdeh opened up about their personal life. Especially Neelam said that after 80-90, she made her OTT debut 2 years ago. The break of years, the path from being an actress to becoming a businesswoman was not easy for her.
Neelam lived through difficult times
Neelam said about her transition period: Things were different in the films of the 80s and 90s. They are different now. You will hardly see any women on set, I have seen such a time in my time. Today the film industry is full of women. From directors, scriptwriters to technicians, there are women.
It was not easy for me to transform from an actress to a businesswoman. It was quite difficult. My 4 generations are dedicated to the jewelry business. I learned this job from my father. When I started making jewelry, I didn’t have clients for about 1 or 2 years. My celebrity status had plummeted. The only thing people knew about me was that I was an actress. When I started the jewelry business, no one knew me.
When Karan Johar approached me with the idea of ’Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives’, I was quite scared after hearing the script. But when the shooting started, she slowly became comfortable. Karan had told me that if you are going to do a reality show you will have to give your 100 per cent. You will have to work hard with all your heart. This statement from Karan stayed with me and I worked hard on the show. Look, the show became a hit.
How does Seema Sajdeh save money?
Seema said that when I got married, I used to save money by doing a lot of Jugaad. I think the women of the house can do this too. Women are experts at saving money. To be honest, I think women can invest better than men.
