Maharashtra Elections: We will not contest elections, I will make my stand clear on November 10…said Manoj Jarange

Manoj Jarange.

Manoj Jarange is continuously campaigning for Maratha reservation in Maharashtra. He had also announced that he would contest the assembly elections. But he had recently announced that he would not participate in the elections. He has now said that he will clarify his stand on the Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 10. While speaking to a Marathi news channel, Jarange took aim at Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. He accused him of being unfair to the Maratha community.

Reiterating the demand for reservation for Marathas, Manoj Jarange said that this community will teach a lesson and defeat those who have done injustice to them. We have decided not to participate in the elections, but we will make our position clear on November 10 so that there is no doubt.

The company will have 10 days after our decision.

Jarange said that after its Nov. 10 decision, the society has 10 days until the election. We will get a reservation. Until we get the reservation, our focus will remain on this. After obtaining the rights (reservations), we will decide on policy. If injustice is committed against the people, then they will go against you (the government).

Because of Fadnavis we had to suffer injustice.

He said that because of Devendra Fadnavis our community has had to suffer injustice. The Maratha community had to suffer further humiliation when we were sidelined and reservation was given to other communities. There is anger in our community about this. Let us tell you that the Manoj Jarange-led movement for Marathas has received tremendous support in the last one year.

Political analysts believe that even though Jarange has decided not to field candidates in the elections, the BJP’s unrest in Jalna has not abated. The BJP won all three major constituencies of the district, Partur, Bhokardan and Badnapur, in the 2019 elections. The party is trying to keep its winning record intact. However, changes have been observed in the political and social scenario there.
