After the coup d’état in Bangladesh, attacks on Hindus by fundamentalist organizations continue. At the same time, fundamentalist groups are now attacking the ISKCON temple for showing solidarity with Hindus in protest against these attacks. In this sequence, on Friday, the Islamic fundamentalist organization Hifazat-e-Islam protested in Chittagong, Bangladesh, demanding a ban on ISKCON.
After the jumma prayers on Friday afternoon, a protest rally was held in front of Andarkila Jama Masjid in Chittagong. Muslim fundamentalists of the Hifazat-e-Islam group raised slogans against India and ISKCON. In fact, after ISKCON expressed solidarity with ordinary Hindus for their eight-point demand, Islamic organizations across the country demanded a nationwide ban on ISKCON and declared it an “extremist” Indian organization.
At a protest rally in Andarkila area, Hefazat-e-Islam leaders threatened ISKCON and Indians.
We tell you that since the change of government on August 5, Islamic radicals have freely roamed Bangalore. These groups have committed atrocities against the Hindu minority who participated under the administration of Dr. Yunus.
India demanded action against radicals
Amid reports of tension in Bangladesh’s Chittagong following inflammatory social media posts, India on Thursday urged Dhaka to take action against radical elements and ensure the safety of the country’s Hindu community. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned the alleged attack on members of the Hindu community in Chittagong. He said the tension was the result of inflammatory posts on social media. We have seen many videos circulating on social media. This is condemnable. It is the special responsibility of Bangladesh to provide security to minorities.
