The US Department of Justice has accused Iran of being behind the plot to kill Donald Trump before the presidential election. A criminal complaint filed Friday in Manhattan federal court alleges that an officer in Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard ordered a hired gunman in September to surveil Trump and plan to kill him. The complaint says that a person named Farhad Shakeri was entrusted with the responsibility of assassinating Trump, who was an employee of the government of Iran.
The complaint claims that Shakeri revealed some details of the alleged conspiracies in recorded telephone conversations with FBI agents while he was in Iran. He told investigators the alleged reason for his cooperation was to reduce the sentence of an associate behind bars in the United States.
An Afghan citizen received a contract to kill
Shakeri is an Afghan citizen who immigrated to the United States as a child but was deported after spending 14 years in prison for robbery. He now leads a network of criminals recruited by Tehran to carry out murder-for-hire plans. According to a criminal complaint unsealed in Manhattan federal court, Shakeri told investigators by phone that a contact in Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard had ordered him last September to put aside his other job and plan for seven days to surveil Trump. inside and kill him. For this reason they offered him a large amount.
There was a plan to commit the crime again after the elections
Shakeri said he spent a lot of money on this. The Iranian official told him there was no money problem. But if he couldn’t come up with a plan in seven days, then the plot would be put on hold until after the election because the officer had assumed that Trump would lose and then it would be easy to kill him. According to the complaint, although authorities found some of the information he provided to be false, his statements about a plot to assassinate Trump and Iran’s willingness to pay large sums of money turned out to be true.
There was also a conspiracy to kill an Iranian-American journalist
Shakeri has escaped and is in Iran. Two other people were arrested on this charge. Who alleged that Shakeri had recruited him to stalk and murder prominent Iranian-American journalist Masih Alinejad. However, the conspiracy was foiled.
“I’m very surprised, this is the third attempt against me and it’s shocking,” Alinejad said, speaking by phone to The Associated Press from Berlin. “In a post on the social media platform, I thank law enforcement for my safety, but urge the US government to protect US national security.”
Shots were also fired during Trump’s rally on July 13.
Let us tell you that Donald Trump has once again become president of the United States. He has recorded a historic victory by defeating Kamala Harris. In such a situation, the revelation of the conspiracy to attack him by the Department of Justice is shocking. However, this is not the first time that a conspiracy has been hatched to attack him. During this year’s election campaign, on July 13, he was shot during an election rally in the town of Butler, Pennsylvania, in which a bullet passed through his ear. Approximately 64 days after this incident, an attempt was once again made to attack him. At the time Trump was present at the Palm Beach County International Golf Club in Florida.
