A heartbreaking incident has taken place in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. Here in Jehanabad area, a school-going fifth grade student was forced to consume poison by three youths riding a motorcycle. Police said Ram Gopal, a resident of Suswar village, said his niece Anshika (13) is the daughter of Ram Avtar of Devipura village in Gajraula area. He was attacked near JMB College around 9am. Police said the three youths first caught him and detained him. After this, the criminals forced him to consume a poisonous substance before fleeing from there.

City Circle officer Deepak Chaturvedi told reporters that the incident appears to be related to a land dispute. Chaturvedi said the victim’s father is having a dispute with his uncle over land distribution. Holding a grudge over the issue, the accused allegedly detained the girl and forced her to consume poison. He said a detailed investigation is underway into this matter. Superintendent of Police Avinash Pandey said we are collecting evidence based on CCTV footage and surveillance data. Four police teams have been formed to nab the accused and investigate the matter and action will be taken against the accused once the incident is confirmed.

Police said the girl was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition. But doctors have declared his condition stable. Chaturvedi visited the hospital to inquire about the victim’s well-being and assured his family that immediate action would be taken.
