New Delhi: Heavy rain is possible in many parts of the country today. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Jharkhand, Karnataka, Odisha and West Bengal. According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rain with light to moderate rain at most places in southern Jharkhand on October 24. While on October 25, heavy rain may fall in different places. At the same time, a heavy rain warning was issued in Dhenkanal, Khorda, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsingpur, Kendujhar, Jajpur and Cuttack of Odisha.

There is a possibility of heavy rain in all 24 South and North Parganas districts of West Bengal, East and West Medinipur. A heavy rain alert has been issued in the Ganga districts of Jhargram, Howrah, Hooghly, Kolkata and Bankura in West Bengal. Heavy rain is expected in Bengal today and tomorrow too.

Mahesh Palawat of private meteorologist Skymet Weather Services said temperatures will remain stable for at least a week unless there is a strong western disturbance or snowfall in areas like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. He said there is a possibility of western disturbances around October 25 or 26 that may cause rain or snowfall in the highlands. After this, cold weather may increase in Delhi-NCR and Haryana-Punjab.
Orange alert issued for Bengaluru
The IMD issued a yellow rain alert for Bengaluru on October 24. During this period, heavy rains and storms will continue in some areas of the city. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Haveri, Mandya, Mysuru, Hassan, Kodagu, Ramanagara, Tumkur and Chitradurga districts. Meanwhile, moderate rain and thundershower are likely at most places in the remaining districts of south interior Karnataka and light to moderate rain and thundershower at some places in the remaining districts of north interior Karnataka .
