Chief Minister chairs Housing for All Department review meeting
Chandigarh News (Aaj Samaj) Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said 100-yard plots will soon be distributed to 2 lakh people within the villages. Apart from this, financial assistance will also be provided to these beneficiaries for construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). The Chief Minister chaired the review meeting of the Department of Housing for All here today. Development and Panchayat Minister Krishna Lal Panwar and Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal were also present on this occasion. He said 100-yard plots will be given in developed colonies equipped with all basic amenities on city lines, in which all physical facilities like paved roads, electricity, drinking water, street lights, solar power, parks and open spaces. Green spaces will be available.
It was decided in the meeting that in the first phase, 6,618 apartments constructed for EWS category by private developers in 8 districts will also be allotted soon to registered applicants for renting apartments under the Chief Minister’s Urban Housing Scheme. Naib Singh Saini said beneficiaries who were allotted plots in 14 cities under the Chief Minister’s Urban Housing Scheme will also be given financial assistance of Rs 2.50 lakh to construct houses by linking them with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Development works worth Rs 170 crore will be started in 14 cities.
Not only this, infrastructure development works at a cost of approximately Rs 170 crore will soon be started in these 14 cities. The estimates for this work have been prepared by the Haryana Urban Development Authority. The meeting was informed that 2,000 beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana in Jagadhri Sector 23 will be given possession of the land to start construction of houses. All physical facilities have been provided here by the Haryana Urban Development Authority.
