There was a controversy over singing ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Ghaziabad, UP. In this regard, the Maulvi filed a complaint against a person. After which the police swung into action and took action against him for disturbing public order and other sectors. The matter belongs to the posh Panchsheel Wellington Society of Crossing police station area.
At the same time, the wife of arrested Manoj Prajapati and her partner accused the police of acting unilaterally. He says there is a temple down in the society. Manoj would come to his apartment from the society lift through the temple and say ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Then a Maulvi who entered the lift started a dispute with Manoj. About which Manoj said that he is not asking him to say ‘Jai Shri Ram’ but no one can stop him from saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
According to Manoj Prajapati’s wife, after this the dispute escalated and after some time the policemen came to the house, caught the husband and took him away. Upon the Maulvi’s complaint, the police took her husband away. This is a unilateral action.
On the other hand, the complainant in this whole matter, Maulvi Mohammad Alamgir, said that he is going to teach Arabic to a child of the society. On the day of the incident, around 8 o’clock, when I was going to the society, a person (Manoj) in the lift raised the slogan “Jai Shri Ram” and asked me to raise it too. When the matter escalated, he called one of his friends. Then they forcibly removed him from the elevator being rude.
Currently, the police have registered a case on Maulvi’s complaint and arrested the accused Manoj Prajapati and issued a challan for disorderly conduct and other sections. ACP Lipi Nagayach said that the complainant Alamgir had lodged a complaint of indecency and assault against Manoj, who lives in Crossing Republic police station society, on the basis of which the police registered a case under relevant sections and arrested to the accused. Further action is being taken in the case.
