16th BRICS Summit 2024, (Aaj Samaj), Moscow: Yesterday, during the 16th BRICS summit in Russia, a bilateral meeting was held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. During this, Jinping said that we are not in any danger from each other. While Prime Minister Modi said that it is very important that there is trust between us. Modi also said that along with mutual trust, mutual sensitivity and respect are the cornerstone of our relations and must remain intact.

Emphasis on mutual trust and mutual cooperation

During the first bilateral talks after the clash between the Indian Army and the Chinese Army in Galwan in eastern Ladakh in 2020, Jinping and Modi emphasized mutual trust, early resolution of the border dispute and mutual cooperation. In the meeting that lasted about 50 minutes, Prime Minister Modi stressed on maintaining stability and peace at the border. He also said that peace and stability on the border should be our priority.
