In the national capital, Delhi, there is politics surrounding the Yamuna river pollution issue. Now the Delhi BJP president has started a unique protest at ITO Chhath Ghat. The BJP demands that Chief Minister Atishi and Arvind Kejriwal come to the ghat and take a dip in the river. The party claims that all preparations have been made in this regard.

The social media post of BJP’s Delhi unit said that ITO State President Shvirendra Sachdeva has rolled out the red carpet at Chhath Ghat to welcome Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi. Now we are eagerly waiting for Kejriwal to come and take a dip in Yamuna as promised.

After this, the group tagged Kejriwal and Atishi and asked them where they were missing. “Kejriwal ji, fulfill your promise for 2020-2021 to take a dip in Yamuna before the 2025 elections!”

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had promised to completely clean up Yamuna by March 2023 and had said that he would also take a dip in Yamuna before the 2025 assembly elections.

What did Kejriwal say in his promise?

Earlier, during the Chhath festival in November 2021, Arvind Kejriwal had promised that Yamuna would be cleansed soon. During that time, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had formed the Yamuna Cleaning Cell to clean the highly polluted Yamuna river in Delhi. The job of this cell was to monitor the work done by the concerned departments, but no one knows what the cell is doing.
