Everyone is waiting for KGF Pan India famous star Yash’s next film ‘Toxic’. But this film is mired in controversies before its release. FIR has already been registered in this matter. As per the Trial Court order, the Karnataka Forest Department has registered a case against him on charges of illegal felling of trees for the shooting of a film on forest land.
FIR registered against these people
An FIR has been lodged under Section 24(8) of KFA 1963 against the producer of the film Toxic, KVN Mastermind Creations, Managing Director of Canara Bank, Managing Director of HMT. This issue came to light last month when Karnataka Forest Minister Ishwar Khandare visited the site, inspected it and expressed concern over such activities.
Karnataka Forest Department and HMT face to face
The shooting of this film of South superstar Yash is currently going on. Due to this, the Karnataka Forest Department and Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) have gone head to head. It is alleged that hundreds of trees have allegedly been cut down to prepare for the film set.
The Minister of Forests wrote a letter on this matter.
Ishwar Khandare, Minister of Forests, Ecology and Environment, Government of Karnataka, has written a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary on this matter. In this regard, concern has been expressed over 599 acres of forest land. This land is now in the possession of HMT. In fact, in a notification published in the gazette, these reserve forest lands were handed over to the HMT without any formal notification.
Fight for land ownership
There is a constant fight between the central and state governments regarding the ownership rights of this land. Environment Minister Ishwar Khandre had said in his letter that HMT is leasing out this land for commercial purposes, which also includes a film called ‘Toxic’.
Trees were cut down without permission
Furthermore, he stated that a lot of the forest has been cut down for the film. This is a violation of the forest cutting limit. For this he has talked about comparison with satellite images. The minister stated that if trees are cut without permission, it is a violation of the forestry law.
