India, China complete patrol round along LAC in Demchok and Depsang after ntc border truce

India and China have completed a round of patrols following the completion of disengagement process in the conflict zones of Demchok and Depsang in eastern Ladakh. The armies of the two countries also agreed to conduct a coordinated patrol every week in areas where tension persists since the Galwan Valley conflict in 2020. The patrol is coordinated at the local level and the ground rules are decided by local commanders after discussions between they.

India and China follow the Demchok and Depsang agreements. The armies of both countries have ensured through patrols that the withdrawal process has been successfully completed. Both sides also agreed to remove all temporary infrastructure at both locations. The neighboring countries carried out the first coordinated patrol in the area in early November after agreeing to withdraw troops from conflict zones in October. According to defense sources, each zone (Demchok and Depsang) will be patrolled once by Indian troops and once by Chinese troops.
