US Congressman Mike Waltz, appointed National Security Advisor (NSA) by US presidential candidate Donald Trump, called India-US relations the “most important” relationship of the 21st century. He said this partnership will decide whether this century will become an “age of light” or an “age of darkness.”
Waltz is also co-chair of the Congressional India Caucus. He said this at the INDUSUS Summit organized by the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF) at Stanford University in September. In his message, he highlighted the need for deeper cooperation between India and the United States and described the relationship between the two countries as one of the most important of the 21st century.
“In my opinion, this (the India-US relationship) is the most important relationship of the 21st century. It will decide whether this century will be an era of light or darkness,” Waltz said in his video message for the summit. Through his message, which he could not attend due to election commitments, Waltz emphasized maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region and protecting Indian sovereignty along the Line of Control (LoC).
Noting the importance of preserving Indian sovereignty, Waltz said: “My office and my team should be considered an open door to advancing this relationship. We must continue to work together to keep the Indo-Pacific free and open and protect the sovereignty and integrity of the India. along the Line of Control”. “We must move forward to protect our sovereignty, so that we can leave our children and grandchildren a world that is consistent with our shared values.”
He expressed happiness over the growing momentum of India-US relations and called for continuing this relationship. Waltz recently visited India in August with his co-chair, Congressman Ro Khanna, and participated in Independence Day celebrations. He described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech from the Red Fort as “amazing” and said it was an unforgettable event, reflecting the growing momentum in India-US relations.
He said joint production between the two countries, such as the manufacturing of Apache helicopter parts by Boeing and Tata, and advances in ship repair, quantum computing, artificial intelligence and data management are important as that both nations move towards the 21st century. growing. Waltz highlighted initiatives such as iCET and INDUS-X that symbolize the growing momentum of relations between the two countries and open new opportunities for cooperation.
Waltz also said that India and the United States, the world’s largest and oldest democracies, are committed to the shared values and principles that bind the two countries. He further said that the potential for cooperation in the technological and defense sectors between the two countries is very strong and it is important to continue strengthening this partnership.
