Actually, the Blind T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 will be held in Pakistan. This tournament will be played from November 23 to December 3. For this, the Sports Ministry had given permission to the Indian blind team to travel to Pakistan.
Approval not received from the Ministry of the Interior and Foreign Affairs
But in this case too the matter was pending government approval. Let us tell you that the approval of the Ministry of Sports was not enough. The Indian team also needed approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs to travel to Pakistan. But Pakistan has also been disappointed in this regard. The Indian government has not given permission to send even a team of blind people to Pakistan.
The T20 World Cup for the blind will be held without India
Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has said that this T20 World Cup will be played in Pakistan as per schedule without the Indian team. PBCC president Syed Sultan Shah said Pakistan had issued visas for the Indian team, but the Indian government itself refused to send its team.
He said, ‘All the other teams will come to the T20 Blind World Cup.’ If a team doesn’t come, it won’t affect our preparations. The president directly said that the World Cup will be played without India and according to the plan.
The Indian team has won the last three World Cups.
Cricket Association for the Blind of India (CABI) deputy secretary Shelendra Yadav had told Aaj Tak a day earlier: “The last time we toured Pakistan for a bilateral series was in 2014. However, in 2018 the government did not approve the tour of Pakistan. After this, the tournament was organized by India in 2023, when the Pakistan team did not come here.
There have been three seasons of the Blind T20 Cricket World Cup so far and the Indian team has been champions in all three. These three seasons took place in 2012, 2017 and 2022. Last time, in the final of the 2022 season, India won the title by defeating Bangladesh by 120 runs. This title fight took place in Bangalore. The Indian team had restricted Bangladesh to 157 runs after setting a target of 277 runs.
