The leader said that a promise was made in 1966 to hand over Chandigarh to Punjab soon, but it has not been fulfilled yet.

Punjab Political News (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: Punjab and Haryana have once again clashed over rights over Chandigarh. Both states have been asserting their rights in Chandigarh for the past few decades. On Wednesday, Punjab leaders once again expressed their full rights over Chandigarh and demanded that it be handed over to Punjab at the earliest.

In fact, on Wednesday, when the National Green Tribunal (NGT) approved the creation of a separate Haryana assembly in Chandigarh, Punjab politics also heated up. NGT approved giving away 10 acres of land in Chandigarh for a separate Haryana assembly. Different political parties in Punjab have started criticizing this.
