Rajasthan News: Chaos returns in Tonk, Rajasthan. After Naresh Meena’s arrest, arson was committed by his supporters. The police fired tear gas. Police force has been deployed throughout the area. There was also quite a commotion on Wednesday night. Naresh Meena’s supporters had indulged in stone-pelting and arson. About 60 people have been arrested in this case.
In fact, Naresh Meena, who was earlier associated with the Congress, slapped Malpura sub-divisional officer Amit Choudhary while contesting the elections as an independent. This incident occurred when Amit Chaudhary was trying to motivate villagers to vote. Amit Chaudhary is an officer with the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS).
After this incident, Meena openly challenged the administration and organized a protest in the village and asked her followers to gather with sticks and rods. When voting ended and the police asked Meena and her supporters to leave the polling station, Meena’s supporters resorted to violence and threw stones at the police.
The RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) association has expressed its strong opposition to this incident. They demanded the arrest of Naresh Meena and warned that if the arrest is not made, they will go on a state-wide “penalty” strike.
Voting for the by-elections for seven state assembly seats, including Deoli-Uniara, took place on November 15 and its results will be announced on November 23. This incident increased tension in the electoral environment and highlighted the issue of the safety of administrative officials.
