Aaj Samaj, New Delhi, Salman Khan: Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend and social activist Somi Ali was recently attacked while trying to save a human trafficking victim. Somi Ali herself revealed this incident and said that she suffered serious injuries in this attempt. At the time of the incident, Somi was trying to rescue the victim along with the police. He said he was not allowed to get out of his car until police removed the victim from the home.
Describing the incident, Somi said: “When the victim was heading home, I thought I should stop him from entering as the traffickers might already be there.” As soon as he got out of the car, the smugglers attacked him. In the attack, one of the smugglers grabbed his left hand and severely twisted it, causing a small fracture.
Somi said that according to doctors, it may take 6 to 8 weeks for him to recover. There has been a lot of swelling in his left wrist and hand, so he has difficulty moving. It has currently been at rest for some time.
Somi Ali has been actively working against human trafficking for a long time and this attack is part of her risky work. He has reiterated his commitment despite this difficult task.
