Apart from this, the team will also have an RTM card i.e. Right to Match. The thing to keep in mind is that if the team retains an uncapped player, his price will be just Rs 4 crore. Uncapped means a player who has not yet played an international match.
A lot of money will be spent just to retain three players
Now this is where we are stuck. The cost of retention is so high that teams think about it ten times. Most IPL teams want to retain many of their players, but they didn’t think it would be necessary to spend so much money for it. Although this time the BCCI has increased the purse to Rs 120 crore, even after this the teams are worried and thinking. There is also the tension that if so much money is spent on just three or four players, then how will the rest of the team be formed. As per IPL rules, any team can have a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 25 players.
Discussion continues between team management over the list of retained players

Because of this, when the players go to the auction venue, the excitement will also be at its peak. The BCCI may have given a relaxation of five to six detentions, but very few teams will reach such a high number.
