A shameful news has come from Aligarh, UP, where a 22-year-old newly married bride was sexually assaulted on a moving train. Not only this, the accused also beat the newlywed’s husband, who was traveling with them, with a belt. The newlywed has alleged that while she and her husband were traveling in a local train from Delhi to Aligarh, four youths harassed them and tried to molest them. The police gave this information on Thursday.

The passengers asked for help, but no one came forward.

In the complaint lodged at the Government Railway Police (GRP) police station in Aligarh, it was said that the incident took place on Tuesday night. In this, the victim stated that when her husband tried to protest, the defendant hit them both with belts. The female victim said she asked other passengers for help, but the other scared passengers did not come forward to help her either.

Former SP city president Ajju Ishaq, who reached the spot, later told reporters that Tuesday night’s incident on the train “shows the growing anarchy in the state.” She said women are not safe even in a crowded train compartment.
