Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler has said that Israel may attack Turkey. Previously, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had described Israel as a direct threat to Türkiye. Now its Defense Minister says that Israel can attack Turkey. Guler claims that World War III could start at any time.

In a live broadcast on a Turkish news channel, Defense Minister Guler said: ‘Israel is an aggressive country. He can attack us. During this, Guler emphasized that Türkiye must be prepared for any situation.

He said: ‘Our president is warning our people because he sees this danger. If the president had not seen any potential threat from Israel, would he have raised such concerns?

Guler said previous world wars began with only minor incidents. At the same time, he warned that conflict could suddenly erupt and a third world war could begin.

The minister added: “Of course we do not want war, but we must always be prepared.”

The defense minister stressed that Türkiye’s priority is to maintain peace, but also said that the country’s security forces are drawing up detailed plans to prevent any possible threat. Guler’s comment comes at a time when Israel’s military action continues in Gaza and Lebanon and the entire Middle East is under great tension.

Türkiye ends its relations with Israel

According to local Turkish media, President Erdogan has said that Türkiye has severed all official relations with Israel.

According to the news outlet Medya Ege, Erdogan said: “Türkiye as a country has severed all relations with Israel. At this moment we have no relations with Israel. Regarding the current conflict in the Middle East, Erdogan said that there should be an immediate ceasefire.

Also on Wednesday, President Erdogan made a statement on the Middle East conflict. He said Türkiye has given the strongest response to Israel’s atrocities in Palestine through measures such as stopping trade.
