War of 1971. Indian forces destroyed Pakistan in such a way that even today they remember it with shame. The Indian Air Force blew up its tanks-airports, airplanes-runways. Thousands of soldiers surrendered to the Indian Army in West Bengal. The navy destroyed Karachi. The submarine PNS Ghazi, which had come to destroy INS Vikrant, was put to sleep under the sea. What remains after this… fear among Pakistanis. A terrible fear.
Now the situation is such that former Pakistani Commodore Sajid Mehmood Shahzad said in an interview with a video podcast called Suno Digital that if there is any conflict or war, then the main target of the Pakistani Navy is the Indian Navy’s aircraft carriers. Namely, INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya. If both aircraft carriers reach Pakistani territorial waters, they will become targets.

Former Commodore Shahzad said attacking aircraft carriers is a challenge in itself, but we also know how to use strike groups to provide protection. Now the surprising thing is that Pakistan does not have an aircraft carrier. Therefore, they can target aircraft carriers from small warships.
Won’t the Indian Navy create a security cover for its aircraft carriers?
The former commodore is taking the Indian Navy lightly. They wonder if the Indian Navy will not create a security cordon to help its aircraft carriers in such a situation. The proof of this is the war of 1971. In which, under an intelligence mission from Pakistan, PNS Ghazi was sent to destroy the old war aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

Vikrant had already been sent to the Bay of Bengal. Ghazi was destroyed near Visakhapatnam. However, the Indian Navy does not officially confirm this. Even Pakistan is not able to speak openly. Because he never publicly revealed this mission.
Now let us know about the strength of Indian aircraft carriers.
INS Vikramaditya… INS Vikramaditya, the largest aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy, is included among the top 10 largest aircraft carriers in the world. It is 283.5 meters long. Its beam is 61 meters. It is a modified kyiv-class aircraft carrier. Which was inducted into the Indian Navy in 2013. It had previously served in the Soviet Navy and then in the Russian Navy. Its displacement is 45,400 tons. 36 fighter aircraft can be deployed on this ship. Which includes 26 Mikoyan MiG-29K multirole fighters and Kamov Ka-31 AEW&C and Kamov Ka-28 ASW helicopters.
INS Vikrant… The indigenously built INS Vikrant will be inducted into the Indian Navy very soon. Currently the Navy is carrying out its tests at sea. Its displacement is 45 thousand tons. It is 262 meters long and 59 meters wide. It can carry 40 combat aircraft. Vikrant has powerful turbines from General Electric. Which gives it a power of 1.10 lakh horsepower. It will have two squadrons of MiG-29K fighter aircraft and 10 Kmaov Ka-31 helicopters. The range of the strike force of this aircraft carrier is 1,500 kilometers.
