Delhi air pollution: Schools closed, construction banned… Will Delhi become pollution-free with the implementation of Grap-3?

Grap-3 was implemented in Delhi.

Currently, there is a blanket of fog in the sky over Delhi-NCR. Early in the morning there is zero visibility on the roads, so traffic has also slowed down. Long queues of vehicles can be seen on the roads. This smog has become a cause of trouble for people. While people are suffering from problems like cough and eye irritation, on the other hand, there is little hope for them to get relief from pollution. Now Grape-3 has been implemented in Delhi-NCR. The extent to which Grape-3 provides relief remains to be seen.

Paper plans on pollution in Delhi are prepared every year. Big advertisements are made to control pollution, but they all turn out to be a fallacy. When November arrives, Delhi is covered in a blanket of smoke. In the name of pollution control, Grap-1, Grap-2, Grap-3 and Grap-4 are implemented, but no help is provided. For four months only fog is seen in the sky.

Schools up to class 5 in Delhi will now operate online

There has been fog in Delhi-NCR for the last two days. Today, CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) has implemented Grape-3 after the AQI crossed 400. In the face of rising pollution, the Atishi government of Delhi has also taken a big step. The closure of primary physical classes (up to grade 5) has been announced in all schools in Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said that due to rising pollution levels, online classes will be held in all primary schools in Delhi until further instruction.

After the implementation of Grape-3, all vehicles from Delhi-NCR states except interstate buses, electric and CNG vehicles, BS-6 diesel buses and other vehicles are prohibited from entering Delhi. In addition, the construction and demolition of new buildings is prohibited. Water will now be sprayed daily on major roads in Delhi in order to reduce pollution. After the implementation of Grape-3, BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles will be banned from running in Delhi and Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar districts.

What did Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai say?

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Thursday that if the pollution situation worsens, stricter norms will be implemented. Gopal Rai attributed the worsening situation to the decline in wind speed and drop in temperature. Let us tell you that the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said that on Thursday morning the AQI of Delhi was 428, which falls under the severe category. The country’s worst AQI was recorded on Wednesday in Delhi, which reached the severe category for the first time this season.

Pollution increased due to firecrackers and stubble!

In Delhi, people have to face the brunt of pollution throughout the year, but in November the situation worsens. The festival of Diwali takes place around the velvety cold of November. Despite the ban on firecrackers, many firecrackers are exploded in Delhi. This can’t be stopped. On the other hand, in Haryana and Punjab, rice harvesting is also in full swing during this season. Farmers burn rice straw in the field itself. Both these factors combine with many factors and turn Delhi into a gas chamber in November.

The kind of smog that prevailed in the last few years immediately after Diwali, this time there was no such smog immediately after Diwali. In such a situation, people breathed a sigh of relief, but after about 10 to 12 days, a cloud of fog suddenly appeared in the sky, causing worry lines on people’s foreheads. This time, Air Quality Index (AQI) data for a week around Diwali shows that no significant effect of firecrackers was observed here. The AQI remained around 300. The AQI reached around 400 in two days.

Delhi AQI crossed 400

Last Wednesday, the AQI crossed 450 in many areas of Delhi. Anand Vihar 466, Ashok Vihar 466, Jahangirpuri 465, Sonia Vihar 460, Vivek Vihar 459, Wazirpur 459 AQI were registered. There was fog in the sky all day long. Visibility became zero at the Delhi airport, so many flights were affected. The routes of some flights were diverted. Currently Delhi is dying due to pollution. At this point there appears to be little hope of this easing.

Cough syrup sales increased in Delhi-NCR

Meanwhile, the survey report by an organization called ‘Local Circle’ has scared us. The information that has emerged in the survey report is shocking. According to the report, people living in Delhi-NCR are facing respiratory problems due to increasing pollution.
