The reach of the drug cocaine is no longer limited to just Delhi, Mumbai or Gujarat. Cocaine has now reached Bihar. In this series, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized cocaine worth Rs 42 million from a person in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Officials provided this information on Thursday. According to a statement issued by the DRI’s Muzaffarpur unit on Thursday, “DRI officials seized 4.2 kg of cocaine from an Indian national of Muzaffarpur district on November 13.”
Cocaine worth Rs 42 crore seized in Bihar
The price of this cocaine in the international market is said to be Rs 42 million. An Indian national has been found to be involved in drug trafficking from Thailand to India. DRI said in its statement that when officials examined the wheeled suitcase the detainee was carrying, a white powdery substance was found hidden at the top and bottom of the bag. When DRI officials investigated, it was discovered that cocaine was hidden in the bag. Further investigation revealed that the consignment was to be delivered to unknown persons in New Delhi. Authorities have not yet released the name of the arrested defendant. However, they suspect that the accused is part of an international gang involved in drug trafficking.
Cocaine also captured in Mumbai
Earlier, police had seized cocaine worth Rs 1.02 crore in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. In this case, an African citizen has been arrested. According to intelligence inputs, a team of the anti-human trafficking cell of Navi Mumbai police raided an apartment of a housing society in Ulwe area on Monday. An official said 412 grams of cocaine were seized from a 35-year-old resident of Guinea, West Africa. He has been arrested.
