This time today on Dev Diwali, a total of 21 lakh lamps will be lit in Varanasi. Furthermore, thousands of tourists and believers from all over the country and the world come to Kashi to witness this moment. Today on Dev Diwali, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will also be present and inaugurate Namo Ghat.
Varanasi Divisional Commissioner Kaushalraj Sharma said in a special conversation that Dev Diwali has become a world famous festival. In the last 4 years since PA Modi made his presence felt in 2020, Dev Diwali has multiplied. The result of this is that national and foreign tourists make reservations to see this festival months in advance. Diyas are lit at the Gangetic ghats of Kashi and the concept of Kashi, the city of light, is portrayed.
He further said, “Today Dev Diwali will be the center of many attractions. Namo Ghat will also be added to the list of 84 ghats on the day of Dev Diwali. It will be inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. Besides Also, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel and Oil Minister Hardeep Puri will also be present at the venue as financial aid has been provided for the construction of Namo Ghat with the help of the Oil Ministry.
What kind of preparations have been made for the program?
Today i.e. Friday night, the inauguration ceremony of Namo Ghat will start at 3:30 pm and continue till 5:30 pm, then all the delegates will start Dev Diwali by donating lamps in lieu of Namaste posture and the lamps will begin to light up. the ghats. In this sequence, there will also be fireworks at Namo Ghat. Apart from this, there will be an 18-19 minute projection show at Chetsingh Ghat, which will tell about the mythology of Kashi, the origin of Ganga and Dev Diwali. There will also be a laser show at this Chetsingh Ghat. In addition, a cold green pyrotechnics show has also been organized.

Divisional Commissioner Kaushalraj further said that the main fireworks will also be held at the Ganga sand in front of Vishwanath Dham. All cultural programs will also conclude on Dev Diwali day. Apart from this, security, lighting and parking measures have been taken. The projection show will also be presented four times, starting at 5:30 pm and continuing every quarter at one hour. Fireworks at Namo Ghat will be at 6 pm and main fireworks will be in front of Vishwanath Dham, after Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat around 8 pm. The entire program will start at 4 pm and continue until 8 pm.
The divisional commissioner spoke about the number of lamps: “Today 11 lakh lamps will be lit, of which 8 lakh are made of clay and the remaining lamps are made of cow dung. Apart from this, with public cooperation, 4 -5 lakh Lamps will be lit in the ponds and ponds of river Varuna and river Assi In this way, 15 to 16 lakh lamps will be lit. Apart from this, arrangements have been made for the theme ‘Swachh Ghat-Swachh Kashi. ‘.

The administration has also made intensive preparations on the occasion of Dev Diwali. Apart from this, Central Dev Diwali and Aarti Committee have also made their preparations. Committee president Acharya Vagish Shastri said, “Today the theme of Dev Deepawali is ‘Jati Pant Anek, Hum Sanatani Ek’. Be it Buddha, Jain, Gurunanak Dev, Kabir Das and Ravidas ji, the lamps will also be dedicated to Kashi. 21 lakh lamps will be lit at 220 places including all ghats, 20 places of Gomati Varuna The whole world is amazed how thousands of lamps are lit manually in 10 minutes and tourists come here from all over the world to see. “.
He further said that the queen of Indore had built the Deep Hazara pillar at Ahilyabai Ghat, Manikarnika Kund, Panchganga Ghat.
