pan The deadline to link with Aadhaar has expired. The last date to link PAN with Aadhaar was June 30, 2023. After this, the government is charging penalty for linking PAN with Aadhaar. The government has collected a total fine of Rs 601.97 crore from July 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024. In such a situation, is your PAN linked to Aadhaar? How to check PAN-Aadhaar link status?

Step 1: On the e-filing portal, click on Aadhaar Status in the Quick Links section.

Step 2: Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number and click on the View Aadhaar Status link.

Upon successful verification, a message about your Link Aadhaar status will be displayed. This will give you information whether your PAN card is linked to Aadhaar or not.

How to know by SMS?

To know the status of Aadhaar linked PAN card, UIDPAN If your PAN card is linked to Aadhaar, you will see ‘Aadhaar… is already associated with PAN (number) in ITD database’ You will receive this message. Otherwise, your PAN card will not be linked to Aadhaar.

How to pay the fine if there is no link

  • Step 1: Go to the home page of the e-filing portal and click on Link Aadhaar in the Quick Links section. Alternatively, log in to the e-filing portal and click on the Aadhaar link in the profile section.
  • Step 2: Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number.
  • Step 3: Click Continue Payment via e-Pay Tax.
  • Step 4: Enter the mobile number to receive your PAN and OTP.
  • Step 5: After OTP verification, you will be redirected to the tax e-payment page.
  • Step 6: Click Continue to Income Tax tile.
  • Step 7: Select the relevant assessment year and payment type Other receipts (500) and click Continue.
  • Step 8: Now, the challan will be generated. On the next screen, you must choose the payment method. After choosing the payment method, you will be redirected to the bank’s website where you can make the payment.
  • After paying the fee, you can link your Aadhaar with PAN on the e-filing portal.
