Tonk SDM Thappad Kand, (Aaj Samaj), Jaipur: There is still tension in the area after the SDM was slapped by independent candidate Naresh Meena during the by-election in Rajasthan’s Tonk district. During voting in the Deoli-Uniyara Assembly seat on November 13, rebel Congress leader Naresh Meena slapped SDM Amit Chaudhary. After which, when Meena was detained by the police, her followers created a ruckus. During the riots in the area, many vehicles were set on fire and vandalized. Officers remain on strike in protest over the incident.
