There is one last update for Mumbaikars. If you are traveling between Jogeshwari and Goregaon stations, you will have a lot of problems while traveling by train from November 16 to 17. In addition to this, there will be considerable disruption to mail and express train services. Western Railway has provided this information. In fact, Western Railway has announced a 12-hour mega block on the railway line between Jogeshwari and Goregaon stations in Mumbai. This mega block is being made to carry out the necessary work for the construction of the bridge. In such a situation, you may have to use other means to travel this route.
How long does the Mega Block last?
According to the news, a 12-hour block will be taken up on slow Up and Down lines as well as Up and Down Harbor lines for the renovation work of Bridge No. 46 between Jogeshwari and Goregaon. This blockade will be in effect from 11:30 p.m. on November 16 until 11:30 a.m. on November 17, so local train and mail/express services will be affected. In such a situation, it would be wise to plan your move out of the house with this in mind.
The trains will work like this.
According to Western Railway, services on slow Up and Down lines will be carried out on fast Up and Down lines between Andheri and Goregaon/Borivali. Trains will not stop at Ram Mandir due to non-availability of platform. Also, during the lockdown period, all Harbor Line services operated by Central Railway will run only up to Andheri and will be reversed. Some slow services from Churchgate-Goregaon/Borivali will be briefly interrupted and reverted from Andheri. Up and Down Mail-Express trains will be late by 10 to 20 minutes during the block.
In May there was a 63-hour megablock
Last May, the Central Railway imposed a 63-hour blockade on platforms 5 and 6 in Thane, Mumbai, significantly affecting rail services. Due to the blockade, at least six long-distance trains and 161 local services had to be cancelled.
