He said Invest Punjab Portal is leading in 28 states due to its functionality.
Punjab (Aaj Samaj) News Update, Chandigarh: State Minister for Industry and Commerce Tarunpreet Singh Saund said that the investment environment in Punjab is favorable, suitable and peaceful and the Punjab government is working with complete seriousness and goodwill for the progress of industries.
Saund said that the state-owned portal Invest Punjab is ranked first among 28 states due to its performance capacity and around 58 thousand new small and medium industries have been registered on it, which is a record in itself. He said that in the last two and a half years more than Rs 86,000 crore has been invested in Punjab and the Punjab government has intensified its efforts to take it to new heights.
He said that the policies of the state government are also industry-friendly and small and medium industrialists can start their businesses immediately by submitting an affidavit and complete the necessary documentary process within 3 years. He said the decision to provide this facility to big industries is also being considered at the Chief Minister level.

52 focal points in the state
Regarding the focal points of Punjab, Saund said that out of 52 focal points located in different cities of the state, 26 have been handed over to municipal corporations or committees. He said that the work of equipping the focal points with world-class facilities is underway and in the first phase there is a plan to develop the focal points of 5 cities as role models. He said that the focal point map will soon be changed.
