Punjab (Aaj Samaj) News Update, Chandigarh: State Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has the most important role in stopping drug smuggling in the state and putting drug peddlers behind bars. Thanks to the ANTF, the state police have been able to effectively stop drug smuggling.
He said that we need to strengthen and update our unit as much as possible and for this the state police are making continuous efforts. In a significant step towards improving the operational efficiency of the ANTF, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav inaugurated the newly created state-of-the-art Sports Services Unit (SSU) at the ANTF headquarters. On this occasion, along with DGP Punjab, Special DGP ANTF Kuldeep Singh, Special DGP Internal Security RN Dhoke, etc. were also present.

The facility was set up a few months after DGP Punjab inaugurated the ANTF Intelligence and Technical Unit (SITU), set up at a cost of Rs 11 crore. The unit is equipped with modern software systems designed for detailed analysis of data, communications, social media trends, financial transactions and detailed profiles of drug-related smugglers.
