Delhi Pollution Update (Aaj Samaj), New Delhi: These days, pollution in the capital Delhi has reached dangerous levels. Despite the efforts of the Delhi government, pollution is not decreasing. Although this pollution also affects Delhi, NCR, Haryana and Punjab, its level is very high in Delhi. On the other hand, Delhi remains the second city in the world in terms of air pollution.
The Pakistani city of Lahore takes first place. Although there is a lot of pollution throughout Delhi, there are some places where it has become very high. So people’s lives are in danger. At 8 am on Friday, the AQI in Delhi’s Anand Vihar was 444, Alipur 407, Dwarka 444, Najafgarh 402, Punjabi Bagh 443, Shadipur 438, Noida 302, Ashore Vihar 441, Jahangirpuri 460 and India Gate 416. According to the report , at 7 a.m. on Friday the visibility was 500 meters in Palam area and 400 meters in Safdarjung.
Grape-3 implemented in Delhi-NCR
Due to the continuous increase in air pollution, GRAP-3 has been implemented in Delhi-NCR. The general air quality index (AQI) in the capital has exceeded 400 (serious category). On Thursday it had crossed 428. Let us tell you that the AQI is breaking records and seeing it continuously decreasing, the government has decided to implement Grape-3 in the national capital. To avoid illnesses due to pollution, people have been advised to leave their homes only when necessary and otherwise to stay at home.

What is prohibited and what is allowed?
As per Grape-3 guidelines, there will be a ban on non-essential construction and mining work in Delhi today. Apart from this, any type of vandalism will also be prohibited until further notice. Under GRAP-3, online classes will be held in all primary schools in Delhi from today. Other educational institutions can also serve their students virtually. Even interstate buses will not be allowed to enter Delhi. These have also been banned. Diesel and petrol buses will continue to operate as per BS-6 diesel standards.
