The Excise Department is taking a new step to end overvaluation of liquor in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Soon the liquor buyer will also receive a confirmed receipt. Following complaints of overpricing of liquor in some districts of Western UP, the Excise Department has taken this decision. After the letter from Saharanpur Divisional Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, the Excise Department took the matter seriously and said that this formula will be implemented soon.

Taking complaints of overpricing in liquor sale seriously, Saharanpur commissioner Dr Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod had deputy district magistrates inspect liquor shops in all districts of the division. After which the complaints of overvaluation in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli were found to be true. In relation to which the Commissioner has sent a letter to the Government and the Commissioner of Excise for action. In addition, the commissioner also sent the government some proposals to end overvaluation, on which the government expressed its consent.

Overvaluation will be controlled

As per the Commissioner’s proposal, customers selling liquor will also receive the payment receipt after scanning it from the POS machine while purchasing liquor. This will help curb overvaluation. The Commissioner has also told that if any person has to lodge any complaint regarding over-qualification or any other complaint, he can register his complaint on Excise Department toll-free number 14405. Which will be supervised by the District Magistrate of the concerned district.

the bill will have to be paid

After continuous complaints coming from Saharanpur district about overvaluation, the commissioner held a meeting with all officials of the district and Excise Department. After which a debate was held to curb overvaluation. While discussing with all the officials, the Commissioner agreed to provide invoices during the sale of liquor to avoid overvaluation. It is believed that giving the invoice will put an end to overvaluation.
