Kurukshetra News | Dr. Rajesh Wadhwa kuruksetraHaryana Pradesh Board of Trade provincial president and All India Board of Trade national chief general secretary Bajrang Garg, after talking to rice millers and commission agents, said the government takes 67.5 kg of rice from the rice millers in exchange for 100 kg of paddy rice. but from 100 kg of paddy rice only 60 to 62 kg of rice are obtained. The government should set a standard to accept 62 kg of rice instead of 100 kg of paddy.
Bajrang Garg said that for 30 years, the government has been paying only Rs 10 per quintal to the mill to extract rice by crushing the paddy, while the cost of crushing rice for millers amounts to about Rs 120 per quintal.
The government should give Rs 120 per quintal of crushed rice to the millers. Garg said that the FCI department officials are openly charging Rs 10,000 for the cart in order to place the rice cart in the warehouses. If the miller does not pay 10,000 rupees, his cart is not placed in the warehouses.
The government should take stricter action against the officials of FCI department because to get money they deliberately reject the rice cart and return it. Due to which the rice millers suffer huge losses due to which they are forced to pay money to the officials of the FCI department.
Bajrang Garg said that due to wrong policies of the government, the rice industry is suffering huge losses. The government should resolve the problem of rice millers with immediate effect. Garg said the government should pay 2.5 percent of the total price to commission agents for each grain purchase, as before.
