Donald Trump, once again elected President of the United States, is naming important positions for his second term and this is quite different from his first administration. For higher positions, give preference to trusted people. In this series, the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the appointment of Caroline Levitt as White House Press Secretary.

Trump was troubled by internal conflict in the early stages of his first term. Now he appears to be focusing on reshaping the federal government in his own image. Even though Republicans have a majority in the US Senate, some of their names may face difficulties in being approved.

Cabinet nominees so far

Minister of Foreign Affairs: Trump nominated Florida Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. Rubio (53) is known for closely following the affairs of China, Cuba and Iran. He was in the race to become the Republican Party’s vice presidential candidate last summer. Rubio is vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Attorney general: Trump said Wednesday that he would name Matt Gage, a member of the Florida House of Representatives, as his attorney general. He has chosen his loyal person for the position of top prosecutor of the country.

Director of National Intelligence: Former Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard has been appointed by Trump to the position of Director of National Intelligence. This is another example of how Trump values loyalty more than experience. Gabbard, 43, tried unsuccessfully to seek the presidential nomination in 2020, before leaving the Democratic Party in 2022. She endorsed Trump in August and also campaigned with him.

Minister of Defense: Pete Hegseth (44) is the co-host of Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends Weekend and has been working with the network since 2014. He developed a friendship with Trump, who appeared regularly on his show.

Minister of the Interior: Kristi Noem is a well-known conservative who has given South Dakota a prominent place in Republican politics during her two terms. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Noem did not order restrictions, while other states did. Instead, he declared his state open for business.

CIA Director: John Ratcliffe was director of national intelligence during the last year and a half of Trump’s first term, leading the US government’s spy agencies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister of Health and Human Services: Roberto F. Kennedy Jr. ran for president first as a Democrat and then as an independent candidate. Later, he supported Trump. He is the son of Democratic leader Robert Kennedy, who was assassinated while campaigning for the presidency.

Secretary of the Interior: Doug Burgum, governor of North Dakota, who was once little known outside his state. Burgum was a contender in the Republican Party presidential primaries. He later supported Trump and toured for months to drum up support for him.

chief of staff: Sue Wills, 67, was a senior adviser and de facto manager of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

National Security Advisor: Mike Waltz is a three-time congressman from east-central Florida. He is a former Army Green Beret. He made several visits to Afghanistan and also worked as a political advisor at the Pentagon while serving as defense chief to Donald Rumsfeld and Robert Gates. He has taken a tough stance toward China. He had called for a boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing due to China’s involvement in the origin of COVID-19 and its mistreatment of the minority Uyghur Muslim population.

Border officer (border tsar): Tom Homan (62) has been given Trump’s priority task of leading the largest deportation campaign in the country’s history.

Special Envoy for the Middle East: Steven Witkoff, 67, plays golf with the president-elect. On September 15, he was playing golf with Trump at his club in West Palm Beach, Florida, when the former president was fatally attacked for the second time.
